THE SAME WORD CAN DESCRIBE DIFFERENT PLACES

Stop types

A terminal, pickup point, intermediate call and highway rest serve different purposes. Knowing which one you have prevents avoidable mistakes.

Intercity terminal

A staffed facility may include bays, waiting areas, luggage handling and toilets. Facilities and accessibility vary. Confirm the entrance and bay because a map pin may cover a large site.

Pickup point

A pickup point can be a curbside or parking-area location with limited shelter and no staffed desk. Ask how the vehicle is identified, where passengers wait and how late arrival is handled.

Intermediate passenger call

The vehicle stops so passengers can join or leave. This is not automatically a break for everyone. Remain with the bus unless the driver clearly announces otherwise.

Highway service stop

A service-area stop may provide toilets, food and prayer facilities, but availability and break length vary. Note the return time and vehicle position before walking away.

Operational stop

A driver change, inspection or other operational pause may not offer passenger facilities. Its duration can still affect the overall journey.

Destination drop-off

The intercity endpoint may be a full terminal or a smaller drop-off area. Save its map pin and plan the final local journey separately.

Always ask: Is this stop for boarding, a passenger call, a usable break or the final endpoint?
